2009 has already been flying by! I don't know where the days are going, I've been keeping busy, busy, busy. Looking to the future, I'm planning two exciting getaways. In February, I'll be going to the Riviera Maya for some fun in the sun and to complete four open water dives so that I can finally finish my SCUBA certification. In July or August I'm (hopefully) going to Australia!!! It has been a life goal of mine to see the Great Barrier Reef since I did a report on Australia when I was in third or fourth grade. I hope 2009 is the year I cross that off my list!
Totally unrelated, but deliciously vegan, I finally went to
Babycakes and tried some wheat, soy, and refined sugar free cupcakes and a spelt flour, agave-sweetened cinnamon roll. They had a "different" taste in that they weren't too sweet. I'd definitely go there again if I was in the neighborhood. While I like the cupcakes and cinnamon rolls I make in my kitchen better, there's something appealingly healthy about these treats. I look forward to their
cookbook, apparently coming out soon.

Those cupcakes are really beautiful! And good luck with finishing up your open water cert! I doubt you'll have any trouble at all. Be sure to get in touch when you come over to the GBR...
I love making travel resolutions & I have quite a few for this year!
I hope you make it down to the GBR this year!! That would be an awesome trip.
Those babycakes are so cute! I'm excited for their cookbook to come out too...
I'm very curious about the Babycakes cookbook as well... I did apply to work there, but they turned me down. Not that I'm bitter or anything...
Good luck with your travel plans, and especially with your upcoming scuba certification - seeing the underwater world on scuba is a whole new experience!
How exciting! I would love to visit the GBR ! That would be a dream come true. In the meantime, I'll have to drown my sorrows in cupcakes!
you must be so excited about your future travels!!!! your cinnamon bun looks amazing
Thanks so much for those recipes! I think I have enough on hand to try out the soup, at least. You're the best!
I like that a lot of vegan sweets aren't too sweet! I prefer a subtle sweetness, like agave.
Ah the Riviera Maya, sun, swimming, and drinks with little umbrellas. :)
Good luck with your certification and YAY for Australia! There are some awesome Australian bloggers out there!
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog! :)
